Alcohol and Drug Education groups provide discussion relating to the characteristics of harmful drugs and the negative consequences of their use. Topics include the disease concept of addiction, need for treatment, need for a sober support system, and the risks of denial and evasion of responsibility. Videos are also used.

These groups are open to all patients and are conducted on an on-going basis. The primary goal is to have an active discussion that involves all patients. Patients are encouraged to bring in topics (questions, experiences, or articles).Numerous topics may be covered during each hour. A certificate of completion can be earned after 4-6 months. These groups are available in English and Spanish at various times during each week.
